Join Us!Global Volunteer Engagement Program Formerly known as the Internship Program, the Global Volunteer Engagement Program (GVEP) facilitates volunteer placements for periods of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Similar to the Global Team program, GVEP partners with grassroots organizations in communities around the world. If you have already been on a trip with one of our Global Teams, or if you're interested in a longer trip and are more comfortable traveling individually, our GVEP is for you. The GVEP currently has partnered with communities in El Salvador, Brazil, Kenya, Uganda, India, Thailand and Macedonia. Unlike the Global Team trips in May, GVEP dates run every three months, giving you the opportunity to leave in February, May, August or November. The GVEP also now offers opportunities in a number of Specializations. Depending on your unique interests, skills and knowledge, you may be interested in completing a placement that specializes in one of the fields offered. Some examples include: Health, Education, Economic Development, Environmental Sustainability, Advocacy and Empowerment. Choosing to specialize in a particular field will you to allow collaborate with our partners overseas on projects closely related to your field of interest. If you do not choose to specialize, a general GVEP placement will give you an opportunity to learn from and collaborate with Global’s partners. How much does it cost?Because of the variance in air travel costs around different times of year, as well as the fluctuation of currency values and in-country expenses, we cannot quote a definite cost for this program at this time. However, general costs for volunteers departing from Toronto for a 3 month placement are as follows:

As with all Global Youth Network programs, GVEP Volunteers are encouraged to fundraise to cover these costs and once accepted, you will be provided with resources to help you in this regard.
