Cambodia

After meeting its executive director, Global decided to send our first team to work with the People Improvement Organization (PIO) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2006.  PIO has two schools for children who live in the city dump area of Stung Mean Chey and in the slum area of Boray Keyla.  Global’s teams teach English classes and providing recess activities for these children.

Under the direction of the University of the Nations, teams connect with various organizations, working with orphanages and hospitals of children with HIV/AIDS, such as New Hope for Cambodian Children, Mary Noll and SPIEN.

Cambodia is a welcoming country with much history to explore and many needs to address.  Global will continue to develop our involvement there.
