Current ProjectsBurkina FasoSince 2006, Global has sent teams to Burkina Faso, West Africa. Arriving in Ougadougou, teams partner with Kheur Guney – La maison des enfants and volunteer at their children’s home, providing care, attention, fun, help and relationships. From there, teams travel to the city of Bobo to visit the medical centre and youth centre of AJPO – centre de dépistage, an organization working with victims of AIDS. AJPO takes a holistic approach to the testing and counseling of people with AIDS and participation in their clinics is a valuable learning experience for Global teams.
Overall, a trip to Burkina Faso provides exposure to the very real situation of AIDS in Africa and allows Global participants to make very real relationships with widows and orphans affected by this disease. |
